It’s always the same question when my cousins asked me how can I have a good English skills: “How do you learn it so fast?”

Well, I don’t.

It takes me my whole life to get to this point. I’ve been introduced to English since I was in elementary school, albeit I’m not really good at it. After years of learning, practicing, and talking to strangers in video games just so I can practice my English, I still can’t even consider my English good enough.

Yet people always think that there’s some kind of magic tricks that makes you become a master of something instantly. Well, if there’s some skills that make you a master after just hours of learning, it’s probably not a good skills to begin with.

People just refused to follow any kind of conventional method of everything, thinking that there’s always some secret shortcuts for life. It’s the sole reason why a lot of scams even exist, they’re specifically targeting people who wants something ridiculous as fast as possible.

Remember those slimming products that promise you that it can make you lose 20 kg within two weeks? Or that “QUICK AND EASY METHOD TO MAKE YOU RICH” pyramid schemes? Sorry to break it to you, but if it’s too good to be true, it probably is.

To be fair, we have quick new solutions to many of our problems thanks to science and technology. I’m sure people have learned that certain method of learning works better for certain people, but at the end of the day, you still need to put your efforts and time into it.
